Cyber security threats and GDPR compliance challenges is not only on the agenda of the executive boards of organizations but also creates significant uncertainties towards the key stakeholders of organizations. Third party assurance solutions are a crucial vehicle in helping to reduce these uncertainties.

Concern over cyber threats and data privacy has reached a high, as more and more firms are discovering breaches and vulnerabilities within their internal networks. Businesses have been discovering previously unknown threats within their network and consequently suffering from reputational damage and direct business losses.

In this session, we will discuss:

Benoit Watteyne, CISSP, - KPMG Belgium
Benoit is a Senior Cyber Security Expert within KPMG Belgium’s Information Protection Services. Benoit joined KPMG Belgium in 2017 and now leads KPMG services related to detection and incident response for cyber incidents. Benoit focuses on Information Security Risk, Governance and Compliance. This also includes ISO 27001/2 Assessments/Certifications and SOC 2 Security Attestation engagement. Besides that he is also managing security testing engagements.

Dirk Timmerman, CPA - KPMG Belgium
Dirk is a Belgian Certified Public Auditor and an Executive Director with KPMG IT Advisory. He has more than 30 years of experience in financial audit and over 15 years in IT Audit, and is the service leader for IT Attestation (including IT in External Audit, IT in Internal Audit) at KPMG IT Advisory in Belgium.

Kara Segers - KPMG Belgium
Kara started her career in 2011 with KPMG. Since the beginning she has been a dedicated team member in the Governance, Risk and Compliance service area. Since 2012, Kara has become a member of the Information Protection Services team, with a specialization in data privacy and information (security) management. Furthermore, Kara has experience in the field of Data Privacy attestation (ISAE3000) as an information system auditor.
