IoT Security

The number of connected IoT devices is estimated to reach 200 billion by 2020. Similarly, it is estimated that approximately 4 billion people will be online by 2020. The online exposure increases multifold by 2020 for the simple reason that human-to-machine (H2M) interactions increase along with the machine-to-machine (M2M) interactions.

Based on recent cases in IoT projects for Smart cities, risks and challenges for Security and Privacy are explored. How do we tackle these risks and make Smart City projects sustainable in regard with current and future Security and Privacy requirements.

The speaker for this session will be:

Mr. Gert De Tant, CTO at Sirus nv
Gert De Tant is a seasoned Enterprise Architect in both the private and public sectors. He is an IoT & Smart City domain expert, experienced in complex integrations that come with IoT projects. Gert was architect for Smart Meters in utilities and provided total solutions for Parking Sensors, Smart Waste, Air Quality in Smart Cities.
